Gunned

Arsenal's season took a battering this week. Defeated in the Carling Cup final, then losing out to a rampant Barcelona in the Champions League...again, and beaten by Manchester United at the Quarter Final stage of the FA Cup this evening. Six long years without a trophy, all talk of their commitment to the beautiful game and how it should be played ringing very hallow in my ears as each season slips by.

What an absurdity it would be, should they manage to win the Premiership, but I think we had our absurd days in the past, particularly the night we won the championship at the fortress of Anfield and so brilliantly relayed in the English version of Fever Pitch.

I think i will have to go with a bit of logic on this one and admit that I don't think they are good enough. Which means we need to strengthen if we are to compete. With Cesc probably heading for Barcelona in the Summer, it's hard to see where that elusive Champions League is ever going to come from. Perhaps it's simply never going to happen...
