Ryder Rocks

It's turning into a ding-dong battle at Celtic Manor. The Americans wrapped up proceedings from yesterday early this morning, and led the tie going into the second session by a point.
By the end of the second session they had doubled that lead to two points. Woods and Stricker looked steady and American rookies, Watson and Overton continued to play like veterans of Ryder Cup ties. Kaymer and Westwood provided the steady to the Europeans and Padraig Harrington also weighed in with an afternoon point with new partner Ross Fisher.

The Europeans knew they needed a big session three if they were to turn things around and set about delivering that when they were up in all six matches when light stopped play, guaranteeing a thrilling final day tomorrow, when those matches will be played to a conclusion, before a straight shootout in the singles for the right to own the famous trophy for the next two years.

My prediction will for the Europeans to get caught up in a Welsh frenzy tomorrow and shoot down the Yanks and win back the cup by 2 clear points. Would love to see an Irishman hole the winning putt. Throw in an Arsenal win against Chelsea and it could very well be the best Sunday of the year.

  1. Looks like a Monday finish now they have lost Sunday morning.
October weather is notorious over here; but I suppose the scheduling of the Ryder Cup will always take second place to the American Fedex Cup. Shame Luke Donald didn't win that,
